12/4/2023 0 Comments Dwarf fortress cavern descriptionDoing this will stop those massive invasions early on before your ready while still leaving you to experience all the smaller spawns. Then when you feel ready raise the cap to 50+ and then later on you can raise the cap to 100+. Starting off with a pop cap of 20 -30 lets you build up your fortresses core without being overwhelmed with angry, hungry and THIRSTY dwarfs. Many of the harder events occur when your population reach a certain level. They can be very frustrating if you don't plan ahead, but are rather easy to deal with once you know how.Ģ: Turn down you Population Cap, and your Children Cap and your Births Cap. I suggest a few ways in the games settings for you to lower the difficulty without turning off all enemies.ġ: First you could turn off were-beasts for your 1st few games so you don't have to worry about that sort of 'Death from Within' !FUN!. Just remember to build a raised walkway wide enough for wagons with some bridges connected to levers so you can let merchants get to your fortress when they arrive. What this means is that a dwarf who goes outside to do something comes back inside completely clean, and this deadly blood and ichor and stuff doesnt end up spreading all over your fortress. We can even go a step further and divert lava or water to the map edges to really give arrivals an exciting experience. All dwarves that cross this ditch will end up being completely clean, and other dwarves will periodically come and clean the goop out of the ditch. But there is no setting to "close off external cavern walls' because we can do that in game by building walls and sealing it off. is there settings to close off external cavern walls, or enforce the peaceful/non-hostile mob spawning? There are many settings that you can change to lower the difficulty. Still finding my feet in going deep underground, but despite starting in peaceful mode, Open Cavern Walls mean I'm still getting smashed by hostile entities that spawn underground/walk in Originally posted by Glorious Boreas:Heyo,
